The project for the Nordeste Municipal Market focused primarily on modernizing its facilities, which comprise a butcher shop, a fish market, and a fruit and vegetable stall. In addition, a covered outdoor square was introduced to serve as a transitional space between the street and the commercial units, fostering interaction and a sense of community among market-goers.

The architectural approach combines traditional language with a contemporary expression, striking a balance that enhances the local identity. The choice of blue as the dominant color was intentional, giving the building a distinctive character and allowing it to stand out within its urban surroundings.

More than just a functional space, the new market positions itself as a local landmark — a place for gathering, sharing, and community life.

Each element is carefully planned to achieve a balance between private living and shared spaces, respecting the relationship with the natural landscape.

The S. Vicente Residential Lots reflects these principles. Comprising 8 plots designated for two-storey single-family homes, the project includes private gardens and swimming pools, ensuring comfort and privacy. The placement of the houses has been carefully studied to optimize solar orientation, enhance comfort, and create functional and pleasant indoor and outdoor spaces.

A project that values the scale of the site and the experience of living.

The JM House, a two-bedroom residence, spans a covered area of 300.00 m². The house stands out for its rounded roof slab, an architectural feature that adds softness to the contemporary design, giving it a unique identity. This curved detail at the edges of the roof slab not only contributes to a distinct aesthetic but also provides a sense of fluidity and continuity to the architectural composition.

The choice of a roof slab with these rounded lines breaks the rigidity of traditional forms and harmonizes the house’s volume with the surrounding landscape, creating an organic silhouette that subtly blends with the natural environment.

The house is further distinguished by the selected materials, with a predominance of wood on the façades, which conveys a warm and inviting atmosphere. The minimalist design is complemented by large glass surfaces, offering stunning views and direct access to the pool, establishing a seamless connection between the interior spaces and the outdoors.

The Parque dos Combatentes is the outcome of a public space redevelopment project, envisioned to foster social engagement and encourage new modes of interaction through the design of outdoor areas that invite users to linger and support diverse uses of the site.

The project incorporates spaces for relaxation and circulation, an open-air amphitheater, a memorial honoring the local combatants who perished in the Overseas War, as well as parking facilities and public restrooms.

The architectural elements are composed with a harmonious aesthetic, where the timber cladding establishes a sense of visual continuity across the site, contrasting with the gray stone of the iconic Ponte dos 7 Arcos, a defining feature of the local landscape.

With the completion of the construction work, the space was reintroduced to the community with a revitalized identity, enhanced infrastructure, and new functionalities. It now serves as a public realm that celebrates the community’s heritage and character while responding to contemporary needs and envisioning a sustainable future.

The architectural project for the requalification and adaptation works of the “Casa do Director do Aeroporto” in Vila do Porto, on the island of Santa Maria, aims to restore the existing building and implement the Headquarters of the Portuguese Space Agency, in Santa Maria island, Azores.

This reconversion project guided by respect for the existing volume, with the maintenance of the original facades, which will be recovered and painted, as well as with the replacement of the existing roof with a tilted solution.

Inside, the proposal is to entirely remodel and redefine the building, adjusting its spaces to its new function. The spatial and functional organization responds to the programmatic requirements arising from the administrative nature of the Headquarters of the Portuguese Space Agency, by creating different areas that are either more public or more private. The reception, meeting rooms, support offices and a multipurpose room are located on the ground floor, while the offices and more restricted work areas are on the upper floor.

This remodeling project also includes the reorganization of the exterior area through the creation of different gardens, parking areas and a large patio that makes the transition between the interior and exterior of the building, providing a visual and spatial continuity.

The project of the Headquarters of the Portuguese Space Agency expresses in a contemporary way the volumetry of the existing elements, while exploring the relationship between the interior and exterior spaces, respecting the building pattern and the urban and landscape values of the location.

The Interior Architecture project for the Mental Health Clinic was primarily based on creating a space that would provide the comfort and security of a home. Every detail was carefully considered to transform the clinic into a welcoming and intimate environment, moving away from the typical coldness of traditional clinical spaces.

The waiting and consultation areas were designed to create an inviting atmosphere, where warm materials such as wood, soft fabrics, and selected colors evoke tranquility. Lighting, both natural and artificial, was also an essential element in the project, with soft, indirect light creating relaxing and comfortable environments.

The project aims to humanize the therapeutic space, making it a refuge where a relationship of trust and sharing is built between patient and therapist.

The UAID Office project was conceived with the purpose of creating a comfortable and creative workspace for the development of architecture and design projects.

This was an interior intervention where the space with about 60.00 m2 and was totally in the rough, with only the toilet space determined as well as a central pillar.

The spatial organization was defined based on these conditions and with the to create an office with five distinct areas – Entrance, Meeting Room, Work Area, Pantry and Toilet

The project sought an elegant and minimalist intervention that combined different types of use and, at the same time, gave a sense of space continuity. Therefore, micro cement was applied throughout the floor creating a smooth circulation. The fixed furniture, the wood slats and the worktables were also designed with the same type of wood and black accents, contributing to a common image. For the Meeting Room, a black partition with glass and sliding doors with access from the Entrance and Work Area was designed.

The remaining furniture and decorative pieces were selected to complete the environment, bringing contrast and comfort to each area.

The Algarvia Houses are two traditional houses located in Nordeste on the island of São Miguel. The project for their rehabilitatiom aimed to maintain the original design of the main facades, taking advantage of the existing stone walls and organizing the interior spaces so that they became capable of responding to the current criteria of comfort and to take advantage of the view over the landscape.

The houses are divided into two floors – the entrance floor, where the bedrooms and a bathroom are located, and the lower floor with the common areas, a toilet, a kitchen and a living room with access to the outdoor space.

The patio can also be accessed autonomously from the street and is divided into two levels – one at the same level of the interior, allowing the extension of the living area to the outside, and another at a lower level intended for a garden.

The MJ House is a project for the conception of a five-bedroom (T5) house in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel. It is a single-floor house implantation oriented to make the best use of sun exposure and where all the interior spaces establish a strong connection with the garden and the outdoor swimming pool.

The spatial organization was defined based on the separation of the social areas and the more intimate spaces, such as the bedrooms and the master suite, with the kitchen being the hinge element of the house.

The exterior spaces are divided into two leisure areas, one connected to the swimming pool with a porch and a deck, and the other associated to barbecue, with a second living area.

In its essence, this house is characterized by the simplicity of its design and the harmony of its volume of sober and contemporary lines that rest on the land.
