The Algarvia Houses are two traditional houses located in Nordeste on the island of São Miguel. The project for their rehabilitatiom aimed to maintain the original design of the main facades, taking advantage of the existing stone walls and organizing the interior spaces so that they became capable of responding to the current criteria of comfort and to take advantage of the view over the landscape.
The houses are divided into two floors – the entrance floor, where the bedrooms and a bathroom are located, and the lower floor with the common areas, a toilet, a kitchen and a living room with access to the outdoor space.
The patio can also be accessed autonomously from the street and is divided into two levels – one at the same level of the interior, allowing the extension of the living area to the outside, and another at a lower level intended for a garden.
